Japanese Ramen Gachi is a ramen in Houston, Texas. It is listed at 2268 W Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030, which places it among the local businesses of Houston that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as noodle shop, so it may cover more than the name suggests.
Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Houston, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Texas run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11:30 amβ2 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Houston follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Third visit and still highly recommended. They are back to a full menu (temporarily only served the ramen). Fried chicken was great. Fried octopus appetizer was also appreciated with different condiment powder choices for dipping. Potato salad also excellent and a favorite of partner. Tried and very much liked the spicy fries as well. Ramen portions are abundant so either come very hungry or be prepared to take some home Lovely, understated decor. Excellent service. Still have no idea why this place isnβt full every night. Have never had an issue getting a table with no wait whenever I have gone and the food would definitely deserve a stronger following.

It's been a little while that I've been here and it looks like the menu has expanded. The food has always been fresh and delicious. This is not the typical thick salty ramen you would normally find at other places. There are "spice bomb" options for more flavor if desired. Today I tried the Yuzu chicken ramen and it was soooo good. Perfectly balanced and not sour at all. I could probably eat like 5 bowlsπ€€ The potato salad, too, very delicious. The restaurant is so nice and cozy. The staff is always friendly. Food is always beautifully presented. The overall experience is pleasant. Congratulations on being consistent in your overall quality.

This was my first time trying this place, and I am super happy I did! Alyssa and Alan were super friendly and attentive, even when it started getting busy. I ordered the Pan Fried Gyoza and Chicken Spicy Ramen with an extra ramen egg (you know you canβt have just one). They were both super delicious. The spice level of the ramen was right at my limit, which isnβt very high haha but dang it was so flavorful! Thank goodness for good service, because I was emptying that water glass. The heat from the broth plus the sweetness of the onion was such a solid combo! I will be back for sure! Great job, guys. Overall Score: 9.5/10

I canβt say enough good things about Japanese Ramen Gachi! We started with the Gachi Fries, chicken karaage, and gyoza, and they were all incredibleβcrispy, fresh, and so delicious. The Shoyu Truffle ramen completely stole the show. It reminded me so much of authentic ramen in Japan, with deep flavor and a perfectly balanced broth. This place is easily my new go-to for ramen, and itβs 100% worth the trip to the Medical Center.

The karaage was really good, crispy on the outside and juicy inside, definitely a highlight. So was the potato salad very delicious and would definitely get again. My boyfriend loved the Shoyu Truffle ramen and finished every last bite. I tried the Spicy Chicken ramen after hearing someone describe it as βlike a warm hug,β and that set my expectations a little too high. It was good, but the flavor notes didnβt give that cozy, comforting vibe at all it was more fine than memorable. Overall, solid food, but not everything lived up to the hype.
